Group project! Doesn't exist yet.....
If you have a MySpace... what made you start one? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? If it were up to you, what would you do to improve the service?
I have a myspace simply because I have a lot of friends who also have myspace. So what happened is that my friends got so into myspace that they wanted me to get one too, but I was too lazy to get one. What ended up happening was that my friend IMed me one day and told me that she had made a myspace for me, and here's the password. Now I have a myspace. (I got a Xanga the same way)

Anyway, what I don't like about myspace is how its dragging so many people I know off of instant messenger!! Seriously, people act as though myspace is the same, but the Instant messaging function of myspace sucks. You can only talk to one person and its down the majority of the time and the only way you can IM someone is if you go to their page, which could take forever to load if its stuffed with pics and videos. Really REALLY bad design there. (I happen to like instant messaging) I mean the only way people really talk is by leaving comments. Not really a great way of communicating if both people are online if you ask me. I'd definitely fix the instant messaging feature is it was up to me to make it kind of similar to AIM. You'd have something kinda like a buddy list, and you won't have to go to everyone's page to IM them and it won't be limited to one conversation only. (Come on now, Google Email can talk to more people!) Also, it'd be nice to be able to bury comments like people can do on some other sites. that way you'd have to actually want to read it to see it.
Does it matter to you that MySpaces don't (and can't) adhere to web standards? (Duh?)
To be honest I don't really care much about what happens with myspace since I'm not a really big fan of it. If one day myspace becomes obsolete and browsers can no longer see it, than so be it. It doesn't matter to me. If I wanted myspace to stay for a long time I'd care about its adherence to web standards, but I don't so I don't care.
(If you've got a MySpace, why haven't you friended me yet? ;-) )

I really REALLY don't do anything on myspace, so I haven't gone around looking for people to add to myspace as friends. So... I usually don't add friends often, because I'm not doing anything on it.
