How much of kass' lecture did you already know? What were you supprised about and how did your views of the internet differ from how it really is?
I knew very little about what was covered in Kass's lecture because I didn't really think about how the internet worked. I knew about oruters, ISPs, etc, but I didn't know that any computer could be a server. I was under the impression that a server was a different machine altogether. I also didn't know that there were only 13 root servers maintaining all of the internet's site alias. My view on the internet hasn't really changed since the lecture, although I am now more aware of how it all functions.
If you could have any domain name that you wanted, what would it be and what would you put there?
My domain name would depend on what I'm putting on my site, which is still undecided. right now, I haven't the slightest clue as to what I'd do with a website of my own, so I wouldn't have a domain name yet. At the moment all I'd have to put on the internet would be some videos that my friends are planning on making under the name "Random Fold Productions," so it would probably be RandomFold.com or something like that.
