Somehow, in the chat, we decided on "Punkland" and began the first punk log on the Manila "Manilasites" server (long since dead). "Punkland" eventually became "Punkworld" when we moved to the Berkeley ATDP Manila server in July 2001. The term "punk" was made popular amongst ourselves by one of the original members, Damien, who enjoyed calling the rest of us "young people" punks.
Over our 3+ years of running, we've both gained and lost members. And in August 2004, as a result of server issues, we decided (or Kass decided, rather) to move the punk log (with its most "active" members) to the new Movable Type ATDP server, which is where we are today. After much annoying deliberation/voting, the new name "Punkcraft" was decided upon. Heavily inspired by the games that Blizzard produces, the name really reflects on what we do best here... the craft of being a punk. :)
By the by... if you're previous member of Punkland/world and are interested in returning, contact Kass and she'll gladly set you up on our new MT home! :)
The Rules
last updated/modified by Kass on 08.24.04
- Do not delete (or modify, beyond correction of code or typos) what anyone else has written, except in extreme cases of vulgarity, offensiveness, or repetitiveness, and inform everyone that something that would have wasted their time used to be there.
- Please write/type legibly! I don't want to cramp anyone's style, but nothing sucks more than taking five minutes to decode what you've written.
- Sometimes we'll have serious debates in Punkcraft and this is really a GOOD thing! Should serious debate occur, please do remain respectful at all times (no-brainer) and try to avoid downplaying the seriousness of the topic. You may not think it's important, but some others might be a bit more sensitive about such things.
- Most important rule: have fun, dammit! :P
