The UNSC gas-operated MA5B Assault Rifle is the main weapon of the marines and ODST. This version has an electric compass oriented toward the gas giant above Halo, as well as an electronic ammo counter.

The UNSC standard-issue M6D sidearm is most commonly the weapon of choice for non-combat staff, medics, and technicians. It's light and its rounds are slightly explosive. This "D" version comes with a 2X scope.

The UNSC S2 AM sniper's rifle is the weapon of choice for long-rage combat. The shot is accurate to the point and has up to 10x zoom. The offset is the low ammo clip.

The UNSC M90 close assault shotgun fires powerful 8-gauge shells and is extremely effective in close range. It has the advantage of being able to fire in between the reloading of shells.

The UNSC M19 SSM rocket launcher is the ideal weapon for taking out ground vehicles and is effective when well-aimed at air vehicles. Two rockets and a long reload time are the only disadvantages of this powerful weapon. The launcher also comes with a 2X scope.

The fragmentation grenade is effective against both foot soldiers and light ground-based vehicles. It has a short fuse and bounces once after touching ground.

The flamethrower appears only in Halo: Combat Evolved for PC and Mac. Commonly found in a few maps, it proves effective against both vehicle and personnel, as it leaves lasting burns for a few seconds after exposure. It's range is generally longer than the M90 close assault shotgun. Cautious use is recommended; the flamethrower can overheat.
