Chapter 4: Frequency

In the beginning of Frequency, Kaori's class is given a new seating chart, which places Kaori next to Morihiro Sawaki, the intelligent, model student. While the class is moving their desks, Kaori crashes into Morihiro, which then enables her to listen to Morihiro's thoughts. She finds out that Morihiro isn't as "model student-y" as she thought and that he gets annoyed by people easily, but keeps it to himself. Kaori plays around with this privilege a bit and surprises Morihiro several times. She later finds out that Morihiro likes Shizuka Ando, who already has a boyfriend. As she's listening to his thoughts as Morihiro's talking to Shizuka about her boyfriend, Kaori becomes irritated and tells Shizuka how annoying she is. Shizuka leaves and Morihiro then yells at Kaori. The next day, Kaori realizes that she can't listen to Morihiro's thoughts anymore and once she talks to him again, she realizes that she likes him..even more.
